Rajadamnern Stadium — Muay Thai venue in BangkokEst. 1945 · Old Bangkok

Rajadamnern Stadium opened on 23 December 1945 and is the oldest purpose-built Muay Thai venue on the planet. For almost eighty years its ring has been the proving ground for nearly every Thai legend — from Apidej Sit-Hirun to Saenchai. A short walk from the Democracy Monument and the temples of Rattanakosin, Rajadamnern remains the spiritual centre of the sport and one of Bangkok's most authentic live experiences.

  • Opened 23 December 1945 — the world's oldest Muay Thai stadium
  • Central Bangkok — walking distance from Khao San Road and the Democracy Monument
  • Fight nights almost every evening of the week
  • World-class cards across all weight classes

Where you’ll sit

Rajadamnern is a compact, tiered arena built so almost every seat is close to the action. Ringside hugs the canvas on all four sides — the loudest, most immersive view, where you feel every knee and elbow land. The east side adds a Club tier between ringside and the second class, a comfortable middle option with a clear elevated view. Second and third class wrap the entire stadium and rise behind ringside; this is where the Thai gamblers gather, and the roar of the betting crowd is half the experience. There are no bad seats — the higher tiers simply trade a little distance for a great panorama and the best value.

How to get to Rajadamnern

Rajadamnern sits on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road in old Bangkok, near the Democracy Monument and a short ride from Khao San Road. There is no BRT/MRT station at the door, so most visitors arrive by taxi, Grab or tuk-tuk — tell the driver "Sanam Muay Rajadamnern". From the riverside, the nearest pier is Phra Arthit (Chao Phraya express boat), about a 10–15 minute taxi from there. Allow extra time in Bangkok's evening traffic and aim to arrive before the first bell to catch the build-up and the wai khru.

How do I receive my ticket?

Your booking confirmation is emailed the moment your payment goes through. For Rajadamnern the stadium’s own system then sends your official QR-code ticket in a separate email, which can take a little longer to arrive — check your junk or spam folder if you do not see it. That QR ticket is what you show at the gate.

Which seat should I choose?

Ringside sits right at the canvas on all four sides — the closest, loudest view. The Club tier on the east side is a raised middle option with a clear view, and second class wraps the stadium behind ringside: the best value, and where the Thai betting crowd gathers. There are no bad seats; the higher tiers simply trade a little distance for a wider view.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

No. Tickets are issued as soon as your payment is taken, so all sales are final: no refunds, exchanges, cancellations or date changes after purchase. Please check the date, stadium, seat type and quantity before you pay. If the stadium or organiser cancels or moves a fight night, we contact you on the details from your booking to discuss the options.

What time should I arrive at Rajadamnern?

Doors typically open around 5:30 PM and most cards start at 6:00–6:30 PM, with the headline bouts later in the evening. Arriving about 30 minutes before the first bell gives you time to find your seat and watch the warm-ups and the wai khru. The exact bell time for each date is on that fight night’s page. Rajadamnern is in old Bangkok near the Democracy Monument; allow extra time in evening traffic.

Is there a dress code?

No strict dress code for spectators — smart-casual is fine. It can get warm inside, so dress light for Bangkok’s heat. Phone photography and video are welcome; please stay in your seat during each round out of respect for the fighters.
