Rajadamnern Stadium — Muay Thai venue in BangkokEst. 1945 · Old Bangkok

Rajadamnern Stadium opened on 23 December 1945 and is the oldest purpose-built Muay Thai venue on the planet. For almost eighty years its ring has been the proving ground for nearly every Thai legend — from Apidej Sit-Hirun to Saenchai. A short walk from the Democracy Monument and the temples of Rattanakosin, Rajadamnern remains the spiritual centre of the sport and one of Bangkok's most authentic live experiences.

  • Opened 23 December 1945 — the world's oldest Muay Thai stadium
  • Central Bangkok — walking distance from Khao San Road and the Democracy Monument
  • Fight nights almost every evening of the week
  • World-class cards across all weight classes

Where you’ll sit

Rajadamnern is a compact, tiered arena built so almost every seat is close to the action. Ringside hugs the canvas on all four sides — the loudest, most immersive view, where you feel every knee and elbow land. The east side adds a Club tier between ringside and the second class, a comfortable middle option with a clear elevated view. Second and third class wrap the entire stadium and rise behind ringside; this is where the Thai gamblers gather, and the roar of the betting crowd is half the experience. There are no bad seats — the higher tiers simply trade a little distance for a great panorama and the best value.

How to get to Rajadamnern

Rajadamnern sits on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road in old Bangkok, near the Democracy Monument and a short ride from Khao San Road. There is no BRT/MRT station at the door, so most visitors arrive by taxi, Grab or tuk-tuk — tell the driver "Sanam Muay Rajadamnern". From the riverside, the nearest pier is Phra Arthit (Chao Phraya express boat), about a 10–15 minute taxi from there. Allow extra time in Bangkok's evening traffic and aim to arrive before the first bell to catch the build-up and the wai khru.
